Telekom T-Travel eSIM: What the New Travel eSIM for 200+ Destinations Means

Telekom T-Travel eSIM: What the New Travel eSIM for 200+ Destinations Means

Deutsche Telekom has sold its own travel eSIM since 21 September 2026. Per Telekom's press release (in German), the Telekom T-Travel eSIM covers more than 200 destinations for travellers on any mobile provider. Missing is the one number you probably care about most: the price.

1

What Telekom announced

Four plan families (Lite, Standard, Max and Unlimited) run 1 to 30 days; price and data depend on destination and duration. You buy contract-free at t-travel.com or in the T-Travel app. Telekom cites around 600 partner networks. Which ones? It doesn't say.

2

T-Travel prices and fine print: what's still open

Telekom names no prices, data volumes or speeds (as of 10 October 2026), as tariffuxx.de also notes. So no T-Travel price here.

The fine print doesn't come from Telekom. monsterdealz.de reports (as of 26 September 2026) that Unlimited means 3 GB per 24 hours at full speed, then 1 Mbit/s. Private hotspots are allowed; calls and texts aren't. Notebookcheck (September 2026) names the Croatian subsidiary Hrvatski Telekom as the contracting party.

T-Travel eSIM reviews? Nothing reliable after almost three weeks, and we haven't tested T-Travel ourselves.

Do I need the Telekom T-Travel eSIM?

Your situation Need T-Travel?
Trip within the EU or EEA Probably not (drweb.de)
New MagentaMobil plan, e.g. USA trip Check your included data first
Telekom customer on an older plan Compare a package with the roaming option

When a travel eSIM still wins inside the EU: see EU roaming in 2026.

New MagentaMobil plans include 2 to 50 GB a year for countries such as the USA, Canada and Mexico from 4 February 2026 (per netzwelt, 13 January 2026). More on Telekom dropping its non-EU roaming surcharges. If that allowance covers your trip, T-Travel means paying twice. Two weeks in the USA, eSIM vs roaming shows the maths.

T-Travel or Vodafone Travel eSIM?

Vodafone has sold a Travel eSIM since 5 June 2025, open to any carrier. The figures below date from launch; current prices unchecked.

Telekom T-Travel Vodafone (launch, 5 June 2025, per Vodafone)
Validity 1 to 30 days up to 90 days
Data not published 1 to 150 GB
Price not published (as of 10 October 2026) from €4 for Europe

Other options: freenet Travel, Airalo, Saily, Holafly and eSIM FOX.

To be upfront, Simbye is our affiliate partner. The Simbye worldwide eSIM works differently: 20 GB for 30 days costs €30.95 (as of 10 October 2026, simbye.com), about €1.55 per GB, valid in 140+ countries. It includes a French number with calls and texts, so it's not like-for-like with data-only T-Travel.

Check before you book

  • How much data do you need? Our travel data guide does the maths.

  • When does validity start? Per monsterdealz (as of 26 September 2026), at your first data connection abroad; Telekom hasn't confirmed it.

  • Is your phone eSIM-capable and unlocked?

  • On booking day, hold the t-travel.com price against Simbye's roughly €1.55 per GB and one more provider. Our fact check asks whether travel eSIM prices are really falling.

Our take: the T-Travel eSIM probably suits Telekom customers on older plans and people who'd rather buy from a big operator than an eSIM app. Not for you: EU holidaymakers and anyone whose plan already covers the destination. No price from Telekom as of 10 October 2026? We think that's a weak start.
